The Best Travel Apps and Sites for Planning a Trip

Wanderu:

Wanderu AppWanderu is the leading bus and train travel search platform in North America and Europe that allows people to find and compare travel options from all major bus and train operators in one convenient place! Definitely check this app out if you are planning an overland trip. Download the Wanderu app here:

GoEuro:

This app will forever change the way you search for your next trip. All you need to do is type in the location you are leaving from, your destination, dates, and number of passengers. The GoEuro app will search their huge databases for the best prices and options for your trip. Within seconds you will have the best option for you at your fingertips. GoEuro finds the best train, bus and flight options AND includes the transit to/from the airport. We can’t recommend trying this app enough.

Flixbus

Flixbus is a big coach-like bus that offers free Wi-fi (to a limit) and for you to bring on one big sized bag for free. Aside from being affordable, this company also is very flexible with cancellations which is great as a traveler because we all know things don’t always go as scheduled. Flixbus will give you a code to use on your next purchase to use the money for the canceled trip for the new trip. Their website is very easy to use and is in many languages.

Bla Bla Car

Bla bla Car is like the travelers Uber. This is usually the most affordable option if you are taking a short trip. Like Tinder, the drivers have profiles and people rate their experience. You can even choose how much you want to talk to one another (which is weirdly amazing). So dismiss what your parents told you growing up and enjoy getting in cars of strangers!

airbnb logoAirBnB

Trips booked with AirBnB really make you feel like a local. You’ll stay with (or at) a local’s flat and they’re more than willing to make sure you hit all the best parts of a city.
Other than the assurance that you are covered, sometimes this option is cheaper than your local hostels. Woah, mind blown. (More privacy and probably better quality over night stays).

Also, crazy things happen and AirBNB knows this. One of our travel writers was scheduled to take a trip to London and the host canceled their reservation out of the blue at the last minute. AirBnB was able to transfer those funds to another flat and also gave our writer compensation for the inconvenience. Customer service is important to us and we value it in other companies and services.

City Mapper

This app has a “Take me home” feature that is a blessing for any traveler in a foreign location. You can save the address of where you are staying and City Mapper will tell you how to get home, every time. This app is much more helpful than GoogleMaps in certain cities. You’ll be thankful to have this app when you need it most.

Your Passport

Of course, the most important thing you should carry on all your trips is your valid passport. Make sure you have at least six months of passport validity before leaving on your trip. If you need a passport renewal or new passport fast, we can help. Our services can secure your passport as fast as 24 hours if necessary. Let us help you make sure you enjoy that dream trip.
