Travel Tips and Passport Info

So you are planning an international vacation or business trip. One of the most important items in your travel arsenal is having a valid U.S. Passport book or card up to date and in good working order. Your passport is your gateway or freedom to travel to most major countries. This is a privilege issued by the U.S. government to make sure we are safe secure and have information logged into customs to make sure we are safe.

Before your international travel, it is recommended you have at least six months of passport validity to carry you beyond your last day of travel. This seems to be a major pain point for most travelers especially when they get to the airport and the agent scans the passport, and they get denied boarding. This is the worst scenario ever for any traveler, and it does happen to hundreds of travelers daily. So please reminder to renew your passport as quickly as possible. You can do it by mail or in person. Another option is using a registered passport courier service if you are in a pinch.

Your passport contains security measures in a new E-Passport called a RFID chip. This chip is inside the front cover of your passport book, and the state department advises passport holders this chip or piece of foil protects the passport holder from identity theft. We also assume should you have a problem we think this RFID chip is trackable to help the government or the passport holder if they have any issues while traveling abroad. Please do not wash your passport or bend it in any way. I’m sure the passport is very durable, but you don’t want to pay for a replacement passport if it’s damaged.

Some more travel tips that can be useful is taking an account or photo of your vital documents should you ever loose them. It’s also a good idea to find out all you can about the country you are traveling to and see if a foreign visa is required. Most countries now allow E-visas or you can apply for it on arrival. Honestly, its best to get your vital documents in order prior to departure.
